Brundle: For Mercedes, this is Lewis’s farewell tour

Martin Brundle is confident that Lewis Hamilton, who is spending his final season at Mercedes, will give his best until the final lap of the final race.

Martin Brundle: “I have no doubt that Lewis will give everything, and this will be the case until the last lap of the last race for Mercedes, which he will spend in Abu Dhabi. As long as he wears the uniform of this team, sitting behind the wheel of their car, representing a team that consists of fifteen hundred people, I think they will all experience this as his farewell tour.

There are some very smart people in this team that Hamilton has such a great relationship with, including Toto Wolff and Mercedes-Benz, and they should all look at the coming season that way. And only then will they say goodbye to Lewis and hope that he fails at Ferrari. (laughs)

With Ferrari, Hamilton will be able to share information about the approach practiced at Mercedes, about different types of work processes, talk about his preferences in terms of working with the car, which seating position in the cockpit he finds comfortable, what requirements he places on the technique so that he can fully demonstrate his talents.

But then he will have to find an approach for a team that is new to him, to work well with them, and that is difficult. Of course, he does not speak Italian – unlike Charles Leclerc, and does not know this team, so Lewis will have to figure out how everything works there, figuratively speaking, which buttons need to be pressed so that everything works as he needs it.

That’s why he would like to take some of his people with him. When a driver changes teams, he really wants to have people from his immediate environment with him. But I think Lewis will be treated with so much respect at Ferrari that even if he asks to move the rear wheels forward, they will do it immediately!”
