Logan Sargent’s debut season in Formula 1 was not very rosy or memorable. The Williams driver avoided a large number of serious mistakes, but did not shine at speed either. Logan assures that he has discovered what he can do to improve his performance in 2024.
Logan Sargent: “I’m excited for my second season and looking forward to getting back behind the wheel. Last year I had my ups, but there were more downs than I would have liked. You have to draw conclusions and learn from mistakes. I feel like I was able to really reflect on myself and figure out what I can do better this year. I have been able to rest well this winter and am now motivated to get back on track.”
When asked what specifically he needs to improve on, Sargent mentioned physical fitness: “To be realistic, I had to admit that last year was quite difficult for me and I didn’t feel completely healthy at the end of the season. Let’s just say I was a little scruffy.
Now I weigh 5 kg more than at the end of last season. I gained muscle, it wasn’t easy, but I feel healthier now. I think I’m in great shape. I will try to maintain this form throughout the season and maintain my weight. I think all this will make me feel physically healthy and more mentally stable.
Last season I got a feel for what the car can do on all tracks, so I feel like I can start strong every weekend, which should make things a bit easier. Clearly it won’t be easy. We have a long and difficult season ahead of us, but I feel like I am much better prepared than last year.”
