It took Mick Schumacher 31 races in Formula 1 to earn his first career points. David Schumacher, the Haas rider’s cousin, thinks Mick will do better now that some of the pressure is off him.
David Schumacher: “Mick has done well and has improved a lot, also compared to his teammate. He now performs at the level of Kevin Magnussen and sometimes even shows a higher speed.
If you manage to earn points and untie the knot, feel the pressure release you. Mick started flying more relaxed and enjoyed the work.
It was exactly the same for me in Formula 3 – I couldn’t earn points for a long time, but then I won the race. The victory pulled me out of the psychological hole I was sinking into. I didn’t feel any pressure anymore and started to enjoy racing. If you fight in the foreground, it’s much more fun.”
