On the first day of testing in Bahrain, both drivers drove with Aston Martin – Fernando Alonso in the morning and with Lance Stroll in the afternoon. Team leader Mike Krak summarized the work done.
Mike Krak: “Overall the day went smoothly and positively. Lance and Fernando completed a total of 131 laps in the AMR24, and we completed the entire program.
The weather conditions were favorable, but the wind kept us on our toes and made things difficult for the riders at times, but that is not unusual on this circuit. Everyone is on a level playing field and Lance and Fernando have done a great job.
Today we focused on checking all systems and assessing reliability, as well as checking aerodynamic properties. The machine responds correctly to changes in settings and we have a lot of collected information at our disposal to evaluate.
Every lap we learned something new about the car and now we look forward to getting back on track on Thursday to continue the testing programme.”
