Leclerc: On Friday we plan to do some fine-tuning

At the end of the second day of testing, Carlos Sainz topped the protocol, and although his teammate, Charles Leclerc, was fastest in the morning session, he moved up to sixth by the end of the day. Although the first session ended prematurely after a loose drain cover damaged the underside of the Ferrari, the Monegasque stressed that the team was able to fully implement Thursday’s program.

Charles Leclerc: “At the end of the day we have completely completed our program, and that is good. We made significant changes to the car settings, which was the most important task we solved in these two days. Tomorrow we plan to look for fine adjustments, we will try to pay more attention to various nuances. But so far the first two days are going well.

However, we must be careful in our assessments, because even if the first two days went well, this is by no means indicative of our competitiveness. We’ll have to wait to find out. But judging by the first impressions, Red Bull remains a reference point for everyone and is still at the forefront.

Tomorrow is the last day of testing and we hope we can set up the car more correctly to be fully prepared for next week. While we always try to get a little more out of the SF-24, I think for the first time we will only be able to fully test its speed capabilities during qualifying for the first phase of the season.”

Carlos Sainz: “I think, like yesterday, we worked quite productively on the track today. Our brand new machine seems stable and well balanced from the start.

We conducted a detailed analysis of the settings, fully tested how it responds to changes in various parameters, and it seems that everything is fine.

I obviously cannot say anything about the balance of power, except that Red Bull is very fast, but there is nothing to add to that yet.”
