Sargent: I need to find a better rhythm

The second day of testing was more successful for Logan Sargent than yesterday, there were at least no crashes from the track and the Williams car generally worked well, so the American driver completed 117 laps and ultimately set the 11th fastest time. This was Logan’s last day behind the wheel of the FW46 and tomorrow Alex Albon will lead both sessions.

Logan Sargent: “We still had some problems, but to be honest we were helped by the red flags, which extended the afternoon session. But overall the day went well, as we already knew which way to go, and there were many positive moments. Although there are still many questions that still need to be answered.

When we talk about my own feelings, I still have to find a more correct rhythm. Slowly I feel more and more comfortable behind the wheel, but for now I have to fight with the car more than I would like. However, everything is already starting to come together and I’ve had some great experiences that will come in handy next week.

The FW46 is a completely new car, not only for me, but also for the engineers and mechanics – for the whole team. However, it is important that everyone sees its potential. The car is really good, but we have to continue studying it in detail and try to improve the balance a little bit.

We have a lot of ideas and tomorrow Alex will spend a full day behind the wheel, so the team has a great opportunity to make further improvements and prepare as best as possible for the first race of the season.

Unfortunately, my work on the tests is completed, everything ended very quickly and I would like to spend another day behind the wheel. We can only regret that we lost a lot of time yesterday and that I only worked one day on the track. But it is what it is, and today we tried to fully implement the program. The most important thing now is to move forward with confidence and try to improve next week.”
