Sergio Perez was only scheduled to drive the morning session of the second day of testing in Bahrain, but due to its early completion, Red Bull Racing adjusted the work schedule, giving Perez the car in the afternoon session. The Mexican driver completed 129 laps and set the second fastest time.
Sergio Perez (2nd): “I didn’t expect to be behind the wheel all day, but because I didn’t manage to work well in the morning session, the team decided to extend my session, and I will be back behind the wheel tomorrow morning send.
Overall, the RB20 was a step forward for the team and we were moving in the right direction. The circuit in Bahrain is difficult because the conditions change throughout the day, so you have to use different settings and trust your feeling.
Over the winter I worked to solve my problems from last year and start the season on an upward trajectory. You are constantly learning and always wanting to get better, and that will be no different for me in 2024.”
