On Friday, Alex Albon spent the day behind the wheel of the new Williams car, completing 121 laps and setting the 6th fastest time, before briefly commenting on the results of the pre-season testing.
Alex Albon: “The third day of testing went much better than the previous two. We have made a number of changes to the settings and this has certainly allowed us to make improvements. We’re still lacking a bit of speed, but the car behaves more confidently and stable on the track, and that’s the most important thing.
After the first day of testing I was a bit nervous about the balance, but today we were able to find some good settings, that’s for sure. With these settings you can already participate in races.
Of course I need to continue refining, and this will allow me to add at least a few tenths, but it will also make it a little easier for me to fly. Overall the race pace is good and I am very satisfied with the results of the tests because we have found the right direction with the car. But the rivalry promises to be very intense.”
