Mercedes positively assesses the test results in Bahrain…
George Russel (2nd): “In three days of testing we did everything we planned, despite the red flags. The car drives well and matches the sensations that were on the simulator. We have a good foundation from which we can continue.
We understand that we have to make up a lot of lap times. We already knew this before the tests started, Red Bull’s cars are once again very fast. However, I am convinced that we are in a much better position now than we were a year ago.
Our staff in Brackley and Brixworth have worked hard to provide us with a more competitive car. Now we have to get the best out of her.”
Lewis Hamilton (12th): “Good tests overall. I am extremely proud of everyone who works on the track and at the grassroots. It’s great to see everyone working together so well.
There is work to be done, we are not yet where we want to be. But we understood that this would happen. Now we have an excellent platform for further work. In the coming days we will analyze all the information from the tests. I am sure we will be in good shape for the new season.”
