The 2024 three-day winter test with ten teams and twenty drivers has been completed in Bahrain – this time only the main drivers took part.
Due to problems with the drainage pit, which took several hours to repair during the second and third days, the teams covered a shorter distance than a year ago. In 2023 they traveled 21,593 km, and now – 19,954 km.
However, it is impossible to determine the exact distance – not all laps were full; in the mornings during aerodynamic tests or when changing settings, drivers often completed short laps – from the exit to the pit lane entrance, but we assume that all laps were full, although the actual distance was slightly less.
Best test laps
During the tests, the drivers received Pirelli slicks from all five compounds, but mainly used C3. The best times were achieved during short series of laps with C4 and C5 tyres. Despite the cool weather, the problem of overheating the tires, which was less noticeable before, returned. The best times were achieved during short series of laps with C4 tires.
