Verstappen: We must avoid repeat mistakes

Max Verstappen believes Red Bull Racing was able to solve the problems that plagued the team during the Austrian championship round, so he hopes he will be able to perform more competitively in France.

Max Verstappen: “I don’t think our car was perfectly adjusted in Austria, and that had consequences for the functioning of the rubber, although there were questions about the behavior of the tires. I think we now have a better understanding of what it was about. I hope that the correctness of our conclusions will be confirmed here in France.

So of course I expect that we will be more competitive this weekend. But even if the speed leaves something to be desired, it is important to earn points. Although we had a hard time in Austria, we still managed to take 2nd place – of course we were lucky that Carlos Sainz withdrew from the race.

But still we need to know the characteristics of our car better to avoid repetition of previous mistakes – I hope we will not allow this this weekend. I don’t know, it is possible that we will have new problems with Paul Ricard, so we are paying a lot of attention to preparing for the weekend.

And yet the most important thing is to fully realize our potential, because this doesn’t always work either and it’s not as easy to achieve as we would like.”
