Sauber is confident that it is well prepared for the season

After successful tests, the Sauber team is preparing in good spirits for the first stage of the World Championship, the Bahrain Grand Prix, although everyone understands that a difficult season lies ahead.

Alessandro Aluni Bravi, team representative: “The start of a new season is always an important moment when everyone is full of expectations. The entire team has been working together for months and the important moment is approaching when we will take on our rivals.

We are satisfied with the result of the work we did over the winter and during the tests. In three days we achieved everything we planned, there were no serious problems and we feel like we are ready for the first phase of the season.

I believe that everything we have done is a testament to the enormous efforts made by all employees at the Hinwil base, as well as our partners, the Ferrari mechanics, and we are grateful to them all.

A solid foundation has been laid and now everything depends on how we carry out further work. We need to keep progressing, introducing new things that will help us move forward and get the most out of every session.

We must also understand that there is a long season ahead, and in recent years we have seen that successful performances can be alternated
failed. But a very important factor that will influence the outcome of the season will be the ability to modernize the car, and every weekend the team may have a chance to achieve good results.”

Valtteri Bottas: “I’m looking forward to returning to the track: these are special experiences, and no test can compare to what you experience during racing battles, when the battle goes wheel to wheel.

I’m very curious to see who takes which positions, and we’ll find out as the qualifications progress. We expect that the results in our group of teams will again be very close, and we understand that we have to make the most of every opportunity – we are talking about pilots and about working with institutions, and about the conditions in which the races take place. place.

This is the only way to take the lead in our group, but we are confident that we have worked hard in the tests and now we need to achieve good results both in the next race and in all subsequent races.”

Guanyu Zhou: “We finally return to the track and I can hardly contain my excitement. But that’s how motorsport should be, and the first race of the season is a special event.

The Bahrain Grand Prix is held under floodlights on an excellent circuit of which I have very fond memories. This is where I drove my first race in Formula 1, so I always smile when I go to the starting grid of this circuit.

We are happy with the test results, although we understand that this is just the beginning of a long journey. We have to try to improve at every stage of the season, and when we do that, the battles with our opponents are a lot of fun.”
