Kevin Magnussen’s contract with Haas expires at the end of 2024. In Bahrain, the Danish rider made it clear that he was counting on a new agreement and continued cooperation with the American team.
“I have put a lot of effort into this team,” Racingmews365 quotes Kevin. “I have been playing for Haas almost since the very beginning and I still have unfinished business here. I want to be on the podium with this team and see the culmination of all the work we’ve done.
We’ve had some tough years, but we’ve been able to turn things around and come back. However, we haven’t seen the full success of the team yet and I want to be with them when that success comes.
Regarding the driver market, I know that many drivers do not have a contract for next year. But to be honest, I haven’t thought about it much.”
Kevin’s teammate Nico Hülkenberg, whose contract with Haas also expires at the end of 2024, is willing to consider alternative options: “It is very normal that drivers do not have patience. We always want everything we had yesterday if we don’t win, but only one wins. That’s why we will see some dynamics in the driver market after the first few races.
It all depends on how the first few weeks go, but I’m pretty relaxed about it. The best I can say is of course that I have to perform as well as I can and do my best to stand out from the rest.”
