Leader “Red Bull” Christian Horner has been acquitted of charges of inappropriate behavior ahead of the first Formula 1 round in Bahrain.
Earlier, Dutch publication De Telegraaf reported that one of the team’s employees accused the Red Bull boss of inappropriate behavior. The 50-year-old sent sexual messages to one of the team’s employees and then offered her around £650,000 (€760,000) to keep her quiet. Red Bull has opened an independent internal investigation into Horner.
“An independent investigation into the allegations against Horner has been completed and Red Bull can confirm that the complaint has been dismissed. The claimant has the right to appeal. The investigation was conducted in a strict and impartial manner. The report from “The investigation is confidential and contains private information about the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will make no further comment out of respect for all interested parties,” Red Bull said in a statement as cited by Autosport. .com.
Horner was questioned by King’s Council for ten hours in London. The official had previously consistently denied the accusations and continued to fulfill his duties as head of the team, and also expressed confidence that suspicions against him would be cleared.
The Bahrain Grand Prix will take place from February 29 to March 2.
