Last year McLaren made significant progress with the car during the season. Lando Norris would like to build on this success…
Lando Norris: “The Bahrain circuit was never our car. We haven’t had much success here. So it is still too early to assess the balance of power after this race. Everyone has ups and downs, you have to do two, three, four or five races to be able to objectively assess the situation.
It’s all about a combination of factors. There are problems that we still need to solve if we want to ensure that we have taken a step forward. But I think we succeeded. The car has become faster, as is evident from all the data we received during the tests. But at times we couldn’t make as much progress as I and our whole team would like.”
Some of these issues will be particularly pronounced in Bahrain due to the nature of the circuit. But I am sure that when we get to the circuits where we were fast last year, for example in Suzuka, our car will be one of the best again.”
