Carlos Sainz, knowing that this is his last season at Ferrari, is ready to give everything he has to achieve the best possible results in 2024.
“The tests went well, that’s for sure. When I worked with the new car, I discovered everything I wanted to find out,” the Spanish newspaper Marça quotes Carlos. – Now I have no doubts about the settings. I wanted to make sure everything we discovered in 2023 will be useful this year, whether it’s suitable for SF24 or not. But if it didn’t fit, I wouldn’t be able to do laps with that time during testing. This is a kind of foundation that we will have to work on in 2024.
I have a certain style of driving and if necessary I will try to adapt it. Both my partner, Charles Leclerc, and I always want to achieve greater stability, so that the car’s behavior becomes more predictable. Last year we could find the optimal approach to the car only after a number of races, after which everyone tried to find individual settings to make driving more comfortable.
The new car has been running more efficiently since the start of the season and after successful tests we will be able to start the season better than last year. But it is not a fact that we will immediately be more competitive. For now, this only means that we understand the car better, know what to expect from it and that its behavior on the track matches the calculations made during the aerodynamic studies.”
