British team driverMercedes » Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time during second practice at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The seven-time Formula 1 champion, in his best attempt, completed a lap in 1 minute 30.374 seconds. Second position at the end of the session was taken by his partner George Russell (+0.206). The third fastest time was achieved by Spaniard Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin (+0.286). Reigning series champion Max Verstappen finished sixth (+0.477).
During the offseason it became known that from 2025 Hamilton would compete for Ferrari.
The Bahrain Grand Prix opens the new Formula 1 season, with the weekend race scheduled for Saturday.
