This year, the former AlphaTauri, now RB, will buy all parts allowed by the rules from Red Bull Racing. The McLaren management does not think this is entirely correct, but team leader Laurent Mekies invites anyone who has doubts to contact the FIA.
Laurent Mekies: “There is a clear set of rules that we adhere to 100%. We have insured ourselves and received all necessary guarantees. I invite anyone who has doubts about our full compliance with sporting, technical or financial regulations to contact the FIA directly.
All developments are aimed at making the team more independent. To do this, we are expanding our team, infrastructure and production capacity. We compete to compete with nine other teams, whether they are owned by the same shareholders or not. Then everything depends on competitiveness.
We have often talked about why we can separate components and parts to avoid too much difference between leaders and outsiders. We share some components to provide a more sustainable business model for those who are now lagging behind. And for those who are at the forefront, they can make a little money.”
