Friday training in Bahrain takes place during the day and is not very informative, but at the beginning of the season every distance covered is useful. The results on Thursday surprised many: in the first training Ricciardo showed the best time, in the second training Hamilton and Verstappen finished sixth twice. Everyone waited for further developments.
Lewis came onto the track first, followed by his rivals – everyone chose Soft for the first set of laps, mainly because everyone had discovered Medium during testing. Verstappen and Perez, on the other hand, started training with Hard tires. Just like the day before, Max and Sergio complained about problems with upshifting.
As a result, Carlos Sainz topped protocol and completed a lap in 1:30.824. Another Spaniard, Fernando Alonso, lost one and a half tenths to him. Qualifying will be interesting!
