Vasseur: I want Ferrari to have a mix of cultures

Next season will be the last in which the usual driver duo, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, compete for Ferrari. Next year, Lewis Hamilton will become Leclerc’s new partner, and Frederic Vasseur listed on Sky Sports the reasons that led the Scuderia management to make such a decision, which caused a real sensation in the paddock.

Frederic Vasseur: “If the opportunity arises to sign Lewis, it must be taken, and it is easy for any team manager to make such a decision. Hamilton is now the only driver in the championship to have won seven titles, and he will share this experience with us.

Moreover, he will bring not only his speed behind the wheel of the car and his technical approach to things to the team, but also a different vision. I think it’s important that Ferrari has a mix of cultures and the experience that Lewis has is certainly extremely valuable.

We worked with Lewis when he competed in the youth categories, and such a long-term relationship is always an advantage. If a racer is 18 years old, it is easier to build a relationship with him than if he has already become world champion…”
