On Friday morning, the teams discussed the new products prepared for the French Grand Prix.
Mercedes
A new Mercedes nose cone was spotted yesterday in the pit lane, but there is no mention of it in the document presented by the FIA.
The team reports a change in the bottom profile for the rear tires, which will help reduce stress at that point, prevent warping and stabilize airflow to the diffuser. In addition, the cooling scheme of the front brakes has been revised.
Red Bull
Red Bull Racing has changed the bottom geometry to “redistribute the load while maintaining flow stability”. The design of the rear wing has been optimized.
Ferrari
Ferrari brought a new bottom with a modified geometry of the front and middle part of the Venturi tunnels.
McLaren
To increase aerodynamic downforce, McLaren revised the design of the side pontoons, prepared a new bottom and increased the efficiency of the diffuser. For racing in hot conditions, a number of additional cooling system options have been introduced. To improve reliability, the rear wing end plates have been changed.
alpine
Alpine has optimized the underside of the car.
AlphaTauri
AlphaTauri has prepared an extensive update for the French Grand Prix. The hood geometry has been redesigned to better match airflow from the front tires to the rear tires, eliminating the diffuser cutout. The bottom design is also optimized for power diversion.
Aston Martin
A Gurney flap has been added to the front edge of the bottom.
Williams
The front lower support has been redesigned to be more flexible so riders have no problem attacking the curbs.
Alfa Romeo
The rear drum deflector has been optimized for improved airflow, which is said to give a slight performance boost.
