Pirelli is satisfied with the performance of the tires at the Bahrain Grand Prix – everything went as expected…
Mario Isola: “The first Grand Prix of 2024 was like a continuation of the last season. Verstappen easily left his rivals behind and they fought closely among themselves. It is no coincidence that riders from five teams were in the top ten, almost in the same order as last season.
We saw no surprises regarding the performance of the tires. In fact, the tires are no different to last year, and three days of testing before this stage allowed the teams to analyze every aspect of their performance.
The slightly cooler temperature allowed the Soft tires to cover a longer distance. But only Red Bull made a bold choice in terms of strategy, while the rest preferred to play it safe and left two Hard kits for the race.”
