Verstappen’s father says Red Bull boss Horner should leave team after allegations

Jos Verstappen, former Formula 1 driver and father of a racing driver “Red Bull” Max Verstappen believes that the team leader Christian Horner must leave the team after being accused of inappropriate behavior.

Earlier, Dutch publication De Telegraaf reported that one of the team’s employees accused the Red Bull boss of inappropriate behavior. The 50-year-old sent her sexual messages and then offered her around £650,000 (€760,000) to keep her quiet. Red Bull management opened an independent internal investigation into Horner and he was acquitted on Wednesday.

“There are tensions at Red Bull as long as he remains in his position. The team risks falling apart. This cannot continue. Sooner or later, an explosion will follow. Horner plays the role of the victim, even though he is the one causing the problems, quotes Verstappen Sr. Daily Mail .

After the charges were dropped, Horner said he had cooperated with the investigation and was now fully focused on the start of the Formula 1 season. At the last Bahrain Grand Prix, team boss showed up with his wife Geri, the couple smiled and stood together in front of the cameras. The winner of the race was Max Verstappen.

The next stage of the championship will take place in Saudi Arabia from March 7 to 9.
