Christian Horner, CEO of Red Bull, met with the drivers’ representative Max Verstappen against the backdrop of a tense situation within the team due to accusations against Horner, reports Sky Sports.
As reported, the negotiations took place on Monday in Dubai, their goal was to calm the situation. Earlier, the three-time Formula 1 champion’s father Jos Verstappen said Horner should leave the team due to the scandal.
Dutch publication De Telegraaf previously reported that one of the team’s employees accused the Red Bull boss of inappropriate behavior. The man allegedly sent her sexual messages and then offered her around £650,000 (€760,000) to silence her. Red Bull management opened an independent internal investigation into Horner and last week he was acquitted.
Horner denied the allegations throughout the trial. Documents believed to have been used as evidence in the investigation into his behavior were leaked to the media and Formula One team bosses from an anonymous email address.
The next stage of the championship will take place in Saudi Arabia from March 7 to 9.
