Sauber driver Guanyu Zhou considers turn ten to be the most dangerous in Jeddah…
Guanyu Zhou: “I love this song. The only thing I don’t like is turn ten with a hard curb at the exit. If you fly away from it, it can be quite dangerous. But overall it’s great here. It’s more because of the grip, because of the asphalt. Compared to other circuits, Jeddah has the best grip and is comparable to European circuits. It’s great that you can attack to the limit here, it’s a nice feeling.
There is much more space here than on other street circuits and during qualifying you can choose different lines in the first corner, which affects the lap times. If you did everything right, you will see the difference.
If in the first sector there are blind, wide corners where you can improve your lap time, then in the second and third sectors there are more fast straights where you can overtake.
If you don’t trust the car in fast corners, you will find it difficult in the first sector. But that’s where you can win back.”
