Alpine F1 is happy with the results of the first day of the weekend in Saudi Arabia…
Pierre Gasly (9th): “It’s great to be back in Jeddah. This is a completely different circuit, with high-speed sections – completely different to Bahrain. In terms of speed we look a little better than last week, but this is just the start of the weekend.
The feeling in the car is still complex, there are some limitations, but there are also positive aspects that we can use.
I stay calm. We have a good basis to work from and we trust that we can get more out of the car. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
Esteban Ocon (15th): “It was an interesting day. I’m happy to be back behind the wheel on this fantastic track. We had two good practices, drove a lot of laps with different amounts of fuel, gathered a lot of information and made conclusions.
We have to work on the car, we will think about the settings, but overall the day gave us hope. Let’s see what we can achieve in qualifying tomorrow night.”
