Sauber is satisfied with the results of the second training session – Guanyu Zhou set the 13th fastest time, but Valtteri Bottas came last…
Guanyu Zhou (13th): “Today I felt comfortable, we were able to complete the entire planned program. Jeddah has a unique circuit, the configuration suits us better than in Bahrain. I hope we can fight for points, but the most important thing is that we make progress.
It’s hard to fight the five strongest teams; our main rivals are mid-range teams. In the evening we will continue fine-tuning the car and optimizing the settings to prepare for tomorrow’s qualifying.”
Valtteri Bottas (20th): “It’s nice to be back at this circuit, it’s always interesting to race here. In the first practice the car behaved well, I felt comfortable. In the second we actively experimented, testing different settings, and at some point we went in the wrong direction.
However, the day will be positive. We realized in which direction we should not move. The data collected today will be helpful in preparing for qualification.”
