Perez: I don’t feel very comfortable driving the RB20

Sergio Perez said he doesn’t feel completely comfortable behind the wheel of the new Red Bull Racing car. But the Mexican driver expressed confidence that the information gathered during the final round in Bahrain will help him perform better in qualifying in Jeddah.

“Right now I’m not very comfortable behind the wheel, but gradually I understand its characteristics better,” said Sergio Perez in Jeddah. – The team also increasingly understands how to get the most out of the RB20.

In Bahrain I had a good race pace, but in qualifying I couldn’t set a perfect lap. I couldn’t get it done. I had to take a place on the front row, at least start third – we’re talking about missing a tenth or so.

There are still 23 races to go and you cannot fight for the title by winning just one stage. The most important thing is that we realized that we could have done better in Bahrain and drew conclusions from that. It is necessary to stick to the chosen trajectory and improve every race, because after Bahrain everyone will take a step forward. So we have to take two steps.”
