Alex Albon finished eleventh in Jeddah, which was the best result for Williams in the new Formula 1 season. His teammate Logan Sargent finished the race fifteenth – also the best performance for the American driver in 2024.
Alex Albon (11th): “It’s a shame that we didn’t manage to score points today; I finished eleventh, one step away from the top ten. Haas came up with a great strategy when they asked Kevin Magnussen to keep the group of drivers at bay – a smart move. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough speed and the front wing was damaged, making it difficult to break through to the top.
We have a higher race pace than we showed in today’s race. Now all focus is on improvement in the next phase in Australia.”
Logan Sargent (15th): “A reasonable race and more than 35 laps, but I didn’t have enough speed in the last 15 laps. Towards the end of the race I tried to improve, but it was too late. If I had realized the potential of the car a little earlier, the result might have been higher. Let’s see what we can do better next time.
My pace improved as the race progressed, so I am confident that in Australia we will unlock our potential and achieve more.”
