In Jeddah, Nico Hulkenberg gave Haas F1 its first point of the season…
Nico Hulkenberg (10th): “One point is worth a lot these days. The team implemented an effective strategy and I had a good race. We separated the cars when the safety car came out – this issue was discussed before the start and it worked.
At the restart, when the faster cars were moving ahead, I was on an open track and moving at a good pace. That was a key factor, as was Kevin’s teamwork in slowing down the others so I could pit. Later I will repay him this debt.”
Kevin Magnussen (12th): “I rode a good pace, but unfortunately I was fined twice. Not my best day, but I made up for that by leaving my opponents behind me, which gave Niko some time. He earned a point, which is very important. I’m not fighting for the title, the most important thing for us is the position in the constructors’ championship.”
