Last season, Oliver Berman spent two practice sessions behind the wheel of Haas in Mexico City and Abu Dhabi, and in 2024 he will take part in the six-lap free practice. Team boss Ayo Komatsu praised Oliver’s performance in Jeddah but has no plans to sign him to a contract before 2025.
“Jeddah is not the easiest circuit to get behind the wheel until the third practice session, so I am very happy for him – an impressive achievement,” Komatsu shared his thoughts after the finish of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. “I think Oliver deserves a chance next year.”
Do we offer him a contract? Apart from the penalty, Kevin Magnussen had a fantastic race. Nico Hulkenberg also performed well. Can I say right now that Berman will be our driver next year? Based on the performance in Jeddah, Nico and Kevin will be our riders.”
