The Italian press writes about the Ferrari team’s attempts to lure Red Bull Racing’s leading engineers.
After the beginning of the crisis in the championship team, which was caused by the Horner affair, rumors periodically appeared in the press about a possible transfer of Adrian Newey from Red Bull Racing to Ferrari. Gazzetta dello Sport writes that Maranello is not trying to lure Newey, but three engineers from the inner circle of technical director Pierre Vache.
According to the newspaper, we are talking about specialists who plan and develop technical innovations for the RB20, a car from 2024. These engineers have a wealth of information that, once in the hands of Red Bull Racing’s rivals, will significantly reduce the gap.
One of the reasons why Ferrari is trying to change not Pierre Vache, but his immediate environment, is the mandatory vacation, before the expiration of which the engineer cannot go to work in another team.
For a specialist like yours, the vacation period can be up to a year, while for other engineers this period is much shorter, allowing Ferrari to obtain relatively up-to-date technical information from the Red Bull Racing camp.
