In Jeddah, the RB mechanics were unable to quickly resolve problems with Daniel Ricciardo’s car that were discovered after qualifying. He took part in the race with them, but hopes everything will be resolved in the home phase.
Daniel Ricciardo: “The race was difficult because not everything worked in my car. There are several issues that need to be resolved for the next phase.
Then there was a big hiccup at the pit stop and I also made a mistake with a spin in the first corner, so the team could see that it was my fault too!
I remain optimistic, we know what problems these are, we know that more can be achieved from the car. These three days have been difficult for me, but I don’t want them to rob us of confidence.
We were hoping for better form at the start of the season, but this is the second race and the next one will be in Melbourne. I hope we do everything right there and have a good weekend. For me the season starts there.”
