In the first races of the season, RB drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda did not earn any points. Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko recalled that this year is largely decisive for both drivers, so results are expected from them.
Helmut Marko: “There is a lot at stake for Tsunoda and Ricciardo this season. Yuki performs very well in the qualifiers, so Daniel will have to come up with something to counter his partner.
In any case, Tsunoda is very good at a fast lap and in the first part of the race he was in the top ten, but then gradually started to fall back. We need to understand why this is happening; perhaps the riders are putting too much pressure on the tires, or there is another reason for the loss of pace.
I know Ricciardo can perform much better if he takes full control of the car. It’s just that not everything worked 100% for him.”
