Carlos Sainz’s contract with Ferrari expires at the end of the season, after which Lewis Hamilton will take his place. The Spanish driver is considering various options for 2025 and according to Italy’s Corriere dello Sport, Sainz’s representatives have started negotiations with Mercedes.
During the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah, his father Carlos Sainz Sr. and manager Carlos Orono spotted visiting the Mercedes team. There were lengthy negotiations with team leader Toto Wolff.
Toto Wolff has repeatedly said that he will not rush to find a replacement for Lewis Hamilton as he wants to consider all possible options. He hasn’t even ruled out a move for Max Verstappen, but it is currently believed that it is Carlos Sainz who heads the list of potential teammates for George Russell for next season.
