Mercedes used the break between races to film the Netflix series in Imola, where team leader Toto Wolff suffered an accident while driving a Mercedes AMG GT3.
At the exit of Rivazza Wolf bumped into a wall, but everything turned out fine and after a short repair, filming continued.
Toto Wolf: “My driving skills are not ideal at the moment. During testing at Imola I had a problem with the traction control and after two laps I hit the wall.”
Together with Toto, seventeen-year-old Andrea Kimi Antonelli, a member of Mercedes’ youth program, who is considered one of the candidates to replace Lewis Hamilton next year, took part in the tests.
Toto Wolff: “Andrea stands out among the drivers of his generation. At school they called him Kimi (after Raikkonen), so I call him Kimi too. If I’m not happy with him, it’s Andrea, so we agreed.
Moving to the main team? We keep all options open.”
