All kinds of experts continue to assess candidates who could replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025. Former Haas team boss Guenther Steiner advises Toto Wolff to take a closer look at Nico Hulkenberg.
Günther Steiner: “Max Verstappen would of course be the ideal candidate for Toto Wolff. But if I were the boss of Mercedes, I wouldn’t dismiss Nico Hulkenberg. We have to admit he had a great weekend in Saudi Arabia.
Niko is a good racer. He is often underestimated and usually finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe this time he is in the right place at the right time.”
Hulkenberg’s contract with Haas expires at the end of 2024. Niko previously stated that he is willing to consider all options to continue his career: “Everything is changing. We have interesting months ahead of us. Now that Hamilton is gone, there will be an attractive location.”
