Herbert: Max is completely in harmony with the machine

The Red Bull Racing team started the year with two victories and Max Verstappen will arrive as favorite in the third round of the season in Melbourne. Former Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert believes that Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen may not have shown everything they are capable of this season.

“I’m a little concerned that we may not have seen everything Max is capable of this season because he hasn’t felt the need to go all out,” Racingnews365 quoted Johnny Herbert as saying. “It’s worrying that Max still has some speed left and one day he might say, ‘Okay, you think you’ve closed the gap, here’s a few tenths.’”

I think this could be a headache for Charles Leclerc and Ferrari, but also for Carlos Sainz when he returns. Verstappen feels very comfortable in the car; they are completely in harmony with each other.

I have said many times over the years that it is very rare to see a driver drive with such ease. Like I said, I don’t think we’ve seen Max at his best yet.

But there are smart people at Ferrari and I think they can challenge Red Bull. But can they fight for the title? That’s probably the big question, but I’m not sure they can do it fast enough to stop Max from winning another title.”
