Felipe Drugovich, who won the Formula 2 title in 2022 and is now a reserve driver for the Aston Martin F1 team, will make his debut in the European Le Mans Series this year.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has signed a contract with British team Vector Sport and will pilot the Oreca 07, an LMP2 sports prototype, alongside Ryan Cullen and Stéphane Richelmi.
Felipe Drugovic: “I am very happy to have signed a contract with Vector Sport, I will drive for them in the European Le Mans series and I have a fighting spirit. I know the history of this team, I know that this is a high-level team and I look forward with enthusiasm to the future cooperation.
I have already met the team and what I saw made a strong impression on me. I am confident that together with Ryan and Stefan, my teammates in crew number 10, we can write a new chapter in the team’s success story.
It’s good that I can return to real racing and will try to apply all my experience and continue my interest in endurance racing. The collaboration with the Aston Martin F1 team will continue fully and I will simply have something new to do during the weekends that were previously free.”
The first race of the series, the 4 Hours of Barcelona, is scheduled for April 14 and the season consists of six stages in total, with the last taking place on October 19.
