The Australian Grand Prix is the home stage for Oscar Piastri. The Melbourne native and his McLaren teammate Lando Norris spoke about their expectations for the upcoming race.
Oscar Piastri: “Australia, my home race! I’m very happy to be able to perform for my fans again. There’s nothing like performing in front of them. It’s going to be a great week of racing and I’m sure there will be a great atmosphere on the track.
We started the season well and in Saudi Arabia I finished fourth. Last week I returned to base in Woking, where together we studied the data collected to understand what else could be done to improve speed.
I expect many spectators in the stands with papaya flowers. Come on!”
Lando Norris: “I’m looking forward to returning to the Australian Grand Prix. Melbourne has a nice track and the local fans create a great atmosphere during the race.
Last week I returned to base, where we analyzed the first two races of the season together with the engineers and prepared for Melbourne. This weekend we will put into practice all the knowledge we have acquired and try to earn points for the team.”
Andrea Stella, Team Principal: “The team completed the first double stage series of the season with a good points score and strong performances on the Lando and Oscar circuit. It’s important to keep this momentum going while paying close attention to the areas where you need to improve in order to compete for the podium places.
Melbourne is a fantastic city. It is also the home stage for the Oscars. I’m sure many fans will be supporting him and the team this weekend. We hope to have an exciting race and earn more points.”
