Christian Horner, Helmut Marko and Jos Verstappen were at the negotiating table before the Australian Grand Prix, where representatives of the Red Bull management were also present. As the British press writes, all parties are trying to find a way out of the current situation and reach at least a temporary settlement.
So far, this is the first real attempt to reach a truce, as everyone agrees on one thing: political and other disagreements not related to sports should not affect the work of the Formula 1 team.
It is also reported that Horner has managed to convince the management of the Austrian company, and it is now reported that Oliver Mintzlaff, who is responsible for the sports programs, and commercial director Franz Watzlawick are on his side. And Thai shareholders, who own a controlling stake in Red Bull, initially backed Horner.
But even if it is possible to reach something like a truce at this stage, it is not a fact that this will last long if Max Verstappen is inclined to leave the team, which he has already hinted at.
In Melbourne, Horner is expected to be on the Red Bull Racing pit wall as usual and, along with everyone else, will look to build on the success of the first two rounds of the season, which saw Verstappen and Sergio Perez take double wins for the team.
