The Aston Martin racers battled to the last meters for the lone point for tenth – in the end it went to Lance Stroll…
Lance Walk (10th): “I had a great first lap, which was the key to a successful race. I almost hit [Эстебана] Windows in turn ninth, but it was important to get off to a good start. At the end of the race I felt there was a chance to overtake [Даниэля] Riccardo.
In the race we were again more competitive than in qualifying, which makes us optimistic after the summer break.
On the last lap the car slipped a bit – the tires were very worn, I fought Sebastian and was able to earn a point for the team.
Sebastian Vettel (11th): “Bad day. I drove the whole distance in traffic, but after starting in the middle of the pack, this is quite predictable. I don’t think the team could do better with the strategy. The biggest problem is the lack of grip on the track.
In the race everything wasn’t so bad – the rivals up front didn’t come out and we started to understand the car better after this weekend. I had a chance to pass Lance on the last lap – I went a little faster, but we’re not fighting for one point, besides it wouldn’t change anything for the team.
