After two wins in a row at the start of the season, Red Bull Racing wants to build on its success in Melbourne…
Max Verstappen: “It’s a pleasure to come to Melbourne and feel the incredible support from passionate fans.
The Albert Park circuit requires the optimal combination of straight-line speed and cornering grip, so a compromise must be found when setting up the car. After the recent update, the asphalt has become smoother and it is much more pleasant to drive – we are looking forward to the start of the stage.
Compared to last year we will have softer tire compounds, which will make the strategy a little more complicated, but should increase the dynamics of the race due to more pit stops.”
Sergio Perez: “Our car has been very competitive so far, but the Albert Park circuit will be a new test for the RB20 – it will be interesting to see how we handle it.
It’s great to be back in Melbourne this week, it’s always a fun weekend with great energy from the fans.
After Saudi Arabia, we have worked hard to improve in some areas. I went to the base in Milton Keynes, hopefully we will see the effect this weekend.
The fight will certainly be exciting, so it is important to perform well in qualifying to build on Sunday’s success. Last year the race in Melbourne was a bit crazy, hopefully this weekend will be calmer!
