Hamilton: Fans have to trust us

Lewis Hamilton believes that Formula 1 should show more transparency in decision-making in the future…

Lewis Hamilton: “Our sport has grown in many ways. We are viewed and accepted in many places, Formula 1 is much more popular than ever before and that is very positive. But at the same time, it is extremely important to stick to the core values. I’m talking about honesty and transparency. Fans must trust us and our sport.

What I like most about Formula 1 is teamwork, where every employee is focused on achieving maximum results. Everyone on the team is moving in the same direction, chasing something that is almost unattainable: excellence, technical innovation, winning the World Championship. And everything will be decided in a close battle on the track. This is exactly the kind of fight we would all like to see more of in our sport.

We remember the era of Schumacher’s dominance, then I won – in Formula 1 one person always dominates. We can’t take anything from Red Bull. They have done a fantastic job, achieved great results as a team and set the bar extremely high. Now we all strive for this. All teams are working hard, it will be great if the battle becomes even fiercer in the end.”
