Susie Wolff is suing the FIA

Formula 1 Academy CEO Susie Wolff sued the FIA over allegations made in December.

Susie Wolff: “I can confirm that I personally submitted an application to the French court on March 4 in relation to statements made about me by the FIA last December.

There is still no legal review of the conduct of the FIA and its employees in this matter. I believe that now more than ever it is important to speak out, call out inappropriate behavior and ensure people are held accountable.

And while some may think that silence absolves them of responsibility, this is not the case.”

Last December, Susie Wolff and her husband, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, became the subject of an investigation by the FIA Ethics Committee. They were suspected of disclosing confidential information. The FIA wanted to know whether Susie told her husband confidential information about FOM’s work that could give Mercedes a competitive advantage.

The investigation was closed after all nine other teams issued statements denying any concerns of a conflict of interest in the situation.

A few days later the FIA released a statement ending the official investigation into Susie and Toto, but Ms Wolff made it clear she was extremely unhappy with what had happened – and has now filed a lawsuit.

Earlier today, the FIA Ethics Committee announced that it had acquitted federation president Mohamed Ben Sulayem following an investigation.
