Sauber has not yet completely solved the pit stop problem

In the first races of the season, Sauber drivers Guanyu Zhou and Valtteri Bottas lost time during pit stops due to constant hiccups. Before the Melbourne stage, the team changed the design of the wheel nuts slightly, but this does not guarantee that the problem will be completely eliminated.

Guanyu Zhou: “I think it is clear that we need to redesign all the equipment used during pit stops.

Unfortunately we cannot do this now, but the team has already made minor adjustments to the design of the wheel nuts and impact wrenches. Now you need to check if this solved the problem. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that everything will be fine.”

Zhou’s words are confirmed by his teammate Valtteri Bottas: “We have not been able to solve the problem 100% because it takes time to produce the components and materials we need. But I think we will be in better shape in Melbourne. This weekend I certainly have more confidence in our pit stops.

Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly. I hope we can race decently and fight for the points.”
