Williams is one of four teams that do not have any points to their name in 2024. At the FIA press conference in Melbourne, Logan Sargent talked about how difficult it is to qualify for a top ten spot given the density of competition in the middle of the pack.
Logan Sargent: “We had some problems at the beginning of the year, but luckily we were able to iron them out. Overall we have a good car; he has a base speed, but it will take time to get more out of it. The team needs a quiet and trouble-free weekend. I hope he will be like that in Melbourne.
Of course we want more, but the competition between the five teams in the second half of the peloton is so fierce that we have to fight for every hundredth of a second. Given this density, we must constantly operate on the edge of what is possible to have a chance of fighting for points when one of the cars from the top five teams drops out of contention.
We have to keep working and attacking as hard as possible in the hope that luck will be on our side this time and we will have a chance to fight for the points.”
