The characteristics of the Albert Park circuit pose specific tasks for the teams, so six of them decided to present certain technical innovations in Melbourne.
The improvements mainly concerned the parts of the front and rear wings, and although not particularly significant, they partly allowed the teams to develop the ideas they tested in the first two stages of the season.
Ferrari
The rear wing of the SF-24 was somewhat modernized; more precisely, the configuration of the central strut was changed, which was done to redistribute the aerodynamic load and increase the efficiency of this area as a whole. However, Ferrari stressed that the changes are minor and not related to the specifics of the Australian circuit.
Aston Martin
Aston Martin has reconfigured the adjustable front wing element, distributing the load across the wing as a whole more effectively, which should help improve performance.
Alpine F1
On the A524, the geometry of the additional rear wing under the main wing has been changed: the upper surface of this element has been removed. This takes into account the characteristics of the Albert Park circuit: the downward force generated by this element is slightly reduced, but the drag is also reduced.
Williams
On the Williams car, the changes affected the air ducts of the rear brake: the size and geometry of the rear air duct area, as well as the additional elements related to it, became different. The purpose of the changes is to slightly increase the aerodynamic load in this area and improve the characteristics of the airflow passing through it.
Visa RB
The geometry of the rear wing has been adjusted to improve performance taking into account the requirements of the track, including reducing the drag it creates.
Sauber
The geometry of the front wing end plates and upper elements (third and fourth) have been revised to influence airflow more effectively and improve the performance of the entire aerodynamic body kit as a whole.
