Charles Leclerc: We have the best chances since the start of the season

Charles Leclerc, who led the protocol for the second free practice of the Australian Grand Prix, believes Ferrari has a better chance of challenging Red Bull Racing this weekend than in the first two stages of the season.

Charles Leclerc: “So far so good. A positive day from the first lap of the first session to the end of the second session was a good start to the weekend. However, it is necessary to continue working because I am sure that we will have some surprises tomorrow.

There are still areas where improvement can be made. We have a good race pace, which is encouraging, but it is important to keep working.

I will say that we have better chances this weekend than in the first two races. However, Red Bull were not yet attacking at full strength, so we did not see their potential. I think they are still ahead, but this weekend is our best chance since the start of the season.

Our race pace looks pretty good, but it’s hard to make comparisons because a lot of riders were affected by the traffic. I was able to complete my laps fairly neatly and that’s good. It’s always better not to have any problems on Friday than to have them.

A good start to the weekend, but we have to keep attacking. Let’s see tomorrow what result is possible.”
