Oscar Piastri starts fifth at Albert Park and hopes to earn points…
Oscar Piastri: “I’m very happy to be racing again in Melbourne, my home circuit, and even happier that I’m starting from a good position. It’s been a great weekend in Australia so far and it’s exciting for the fans in the stands to follow the action, so let’s hope we can put on a good show for them today.
We will do everything we can to get on the podium because from the start of the weekend our car has been able to maintain a good pace, which was a pleasant surprise for us. Lando will start from third position, I will start from fifth, so I am not far from the podium and if the race goes something like last year, then anything is possible.
To be honest, I still find it hard to believe that I’m competing in my hometown, and if I started from a different position a year ago, I’m doing much better now, so we’ll see what we can achieve. The home race is very special and I am in a good mood!”
